Halloween and Thanksgiving

Emmett coming home from school...notice his backpack laying on the driveway. We went trick or treating with our neighbors Jack and Molly Wolfe. In case you don't recognize him in his costume he is the lollipop princess (ok just kidding he is the ninja)...Trick or Treat
Emmett loves the pulled pork sandwiches his Papa makes on the Traeger. I think he might have eaten this whole pile.

Tae Kwan Do has been really fun for Emmett. He works really hard to get stickers added to his belt.
This picture (I realize is not very good) was taken of Emmett and Jack in their matching "Angry Birds" pajama's. They loved getting to know each other and played a lot of super hero video games together.
Isaac, Heather and Kaitlin preparing our wonderful Thanksgiving feast. It was awesome.
Emmett trying to catch anything that is alive while at Show Low lake. The lake is about 2 blocks away from Isaac and Heather's house. It was a beautiful Thanksgiving day.
Finding fossils and artifacts at the canyons in Snowflake Arizona. These cliffs are covered with petroglyphs from the ancient Anasazi, Hopi and Pueblo Indians.

Isaac and Emmett having fun together shooting guns...he is actually a great shot just like his dad.
Happy boy getting his haircut by his talented mother-in-law. So glad she knows how to cut hair.

We have decided to channel some of Emmet's energy by enrolling him in a Tae Kwon Do class which I think will help him with some of his impulsiveness.
 First Day of school
Carving pumpkins with Macy and Derek

He is amazing at doing puzzles. This one was sent in a Halloween package from Granda Jeanette and Grandpa Kyle. He finished it in about 15 minutes.

Overall things are going well with Emmett. I have met with his 2nd grade school teacher on several occasions and he is working at mid grade level. The school is very helpful in making sure he gets his medications and trying to keep him on track. He is in a special reading and writing class to help get him up to speed. We have a school district care coordinator that helps us with child counseling and ideas for how to help Emmett at home. We are still working with his medications. I think we are getting closer to figuring out what combination would be best but we are not quite there. He is awesome in the morning and throughout school for that matter but tends to really lose focus and become more irritable as the day goes on. I am working with his doctor to see how we can help him in the evenings to be happier. He has an appointment with the ENT on November 12th to evaluate and treat him for his ear infections and possible hearing loss.

We love having him in our home and we are all so happy with the progress he is making...I update the blog with Halloween pictures after tomorrow!!

Just so you know Emmett doesn't drink pop all the time....he just seems to want me to take a picture of him when he is drinking pop. If you give him a net and put him in water it may be hours before you see him again. In the picture below he is catching crawdads with Papa and below that he is at Cannon Beach trying to catch flounder (in both cases he was successful)

It has been so fun to have Emmett in our home. He loves fishing with Papa Charles and this summer he especially loved swimming in the pool. We live in an area where we are surrounded by members of the church (I know amazing especially in Oregon). We would have neighborhood pool parties every week!!
